Public Agency for Entrepreneurship and Foreign Investments JAPTI) was established by the Government of the Republic of Slovenia in 1992 with an aim to co-ordinate the Small Business Support Network and entrepreneurship promotion programmes. Its mission is to enhance the establishment of entrepreneurship development supporting environment in Slovenia and to accelerate the development of entrepreneurial culture.

SBDC is a co-ordinator of the Small Business Support Network and other SME supporting institutions at the national, regional and local level. SBDC co-ordinates their entrepreneurial initiatives and communicates them further, via Small Business Support Network and the Network of Local Business Centres of Slovenia (LBC), to the users – target groups: micro, small and medium-sized enterprises.

SBDC carries out several important projects of promoting entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial culture in Slovenia and at the international level in a close co-operation with partners and its networks. The projects and activities are implemented in the following fields: (i) development of business support services for micro, small and medium enterprises, (ii) development of entrepreneurial supporting environment, (iii) co-ordination of the EIC network and strengthening the quality of services for internationalisation of SMEs.
