Prešov regional chamber of SCCI is a public entity, which started its new history in 1998. In 1992 a separate legal entity – Slovak Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), based in Bratislava, devolved from the then Czechoslovak Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CSCCI). SCCI currently roofs nine regional chambers, based in regional the cities of Slovakia (Bratislava, Trnava, Trenčín, Nitra, Žilina, Banská Bystrica, Košice and Prešov) as well as in the town of Lučenec.



Main tasks of Prešov regional chamber of SCCI is to support and defence the business activities of the members at home and abroad. One activity is the co-operation with chambers of commerce and industry abroad (organization of trade missions, workshops, cooperative and economic meetings, publishing of business offers, searching for business partners, exchange of trade and political documents and other information, etc.). Very important is the mediation and publishing of trade offers and other business information for foreign and domestic businesses. Moreover, it spreads trade and manufacturing contact information from home and abroad; business offers from SCCI subscriber service and a server of the International Chamber of Commerce in Paris; contact information about Slovak businesses and their products and services.

In the last two years PRC-SCCI is participating in a number of PHARE and LEONARDO projects, with the aim of strengthening of economic development of cross-border regions by increasing the SME competitiveness.
