The Faculty of Economy has more than 800 students. Main research areas are: (i) socio-economics analysis of ICT applications, best practice processing, (ii) electronic business, electronic banking, e-services, (iii) regional development and regional economics, (iv) management, modelling and optimisation of economic processes.

Faculty staff has extensive experience in participation and management of international projects in the area of knowledge management, e-government, regional development, foreign direct investments, socio-economic analysis, best practice analysis, vocational training, distance education etc.

Among the EU R&D projects we recall WEBOCRACY (web supports to eDemocracy), PRISMA (Innovative models and assessments for eBusiness), BEEP Best eEurope Practices), KNOWWEB (Web support of company knowledge management). In addition, Prof. Sabol and Prof. Delina are the national expert for European e-BusinessW@tch initiative. (Tomas Sabol, Radoslav Delina – national experts).

Also the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Informatics, Department of Cybernetics and Artificial Intelligence is involved in the project. It has a strong record in applied research on knowledge-based systems, knowledge management, e-government, Web technologies, knowledge modelling and data mining.
